Yes this our first cheesy post but with V-day in the midst we thought the theme was apt. Personally I would avoid all restaurants on Valentines Day itself – (my ideal being a home cooked meal with some good wine on the sofa!) but if you are looking for any other special, romantic occasion to celebrate here are our best 3…[Shails]
A real gem in the heart of Covent Garden. The food here is divine but the real bonus is the setting –a romantic and intimate secret garden describes it best! I love that this place has a vegetarian tasting menu – us veggies are not just subjected to a choice of 1 main course and 1 starter at a high-end restaurant. Excellent value pre-theatre menu also available.
La Petite Maison
A hideaway setting minutes from Bond Street. This French restaurant perfectly executes the food and service. Delicious, fresh ingredients prepared beautifully and taste as good as they look. The vegetables are prepared beautifully and taste just as good as they look, another highlight was the Burrata – melts in the mouth. Not cheap but worth every penny!
A Michelin star for the famous River-Café. Good quality Italian fare in a light, spacious, (often noisy / atmospheric) setting. The menu is extensive – highly recommend the fresh pasta, with generous portions and an exquisite wine list. I recommend lunch at the River Café to enjoy the surroundings and they often have set menu specials 2/3 courses for decent value.
