It’s hard to find a good veggie burger that isn’t filled with grains, dry, or just boring. The biggest offense? deep frying. This may seem counterintuitive to you, but be sure to ask how it is prepared to avoid this preposterous possibility. These veggie burgers raise the standards- hearty and flavorful- and redefine the meatless patty. [Nic & Shails]
Big Mac Daddy at Tiny’s Giant Sandwich Shop
Topped with mild cheddar, tofu bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mustard and a special sauce, this burger is the total package. The Big Mac Daddy is the meat burger’s reduced guilt sibling without sacrificing taste. As someone who used to be an herbivore, the patty resembles and tastes like meat but without the weighed down feeling. The fresh, soft and sweet brioche bun is also the perfect width- just thick enough to contain everything.
Homemade Veggie Burger at Remedy Diner
A delicious homemade patty made with potatoes, lentils, peas, onions and much more. Instead of breadcrumbs, this burger is bound using potato. We chose to “Deluxe it” with lettuce, tomato, fries, cole slaw and pickle. Added bonus- Remedy is open 24 hours a day so you can get your veggie burger fix around the clock!
Veggie Burger at The Ainsworth
Known more for sports than for food, the veggie burger is an unexpected find on the menu. Asian inspired, the edamame base creates a vibrant green patty. Avocado adorns the top, and is one of my favorite additions to any meal.
