Greenwich Village gem Keste never fails to make my mouth water. Their Italian-style pies are perfect every time, even when they’re delivered. Keste’s Margherita pizza is made with their own homemade mozzarella cheese. If that’s not mouthwatering enough, upgrade to the Regina Margherita, made with imported buffalo mozzarella and grape tomatoes, for a special treat. Only 15 cramped tables at this joint with a walk-in policy, be prepared to wait – it’s worth it!
Neapolitan style pizza with a delicious chewy, charred crust. The pies here are on the smaller side, but that does not take away from the taste – without toppings I would eat this dough and I am not even a fan of crusts! Pies to note are the original Margherita and the Brussels Sprout. Branches in East Village, Williamsburg and now even Hong Kong!
I would travel afar for this pizza – creamy white mozzarella melted into the base which few joints manage to achieve. Similar crust to Motorino’s, just the right amount of zesty tomato sauce and delicious toppings although Margherita here still remains the favourite. I am yet to try the white pizza with roasted butternut sqash, sage, and brown butter which looks incredible! Locations currently are mobile only at Smorgasburg on weekends, but coming this fall is a brick location in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
